GyanRank ("GyanRank", "we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting the privacy and personal data of coaching institutes, teachers, students, and parents. This Privacy Policy applies to our website located at https://gyanrank.com, the GyanRank Android Mobile Application, web dashboards, and payment processing portals.
By accessing or using GyanRank, you consent to the data collection, processing, and protection practices described in this document. If you do not agree with these terms, please discontinue using the platform.
2. Information We Collect
We collect necessary information across three primary operational categories:
a) Profile & Registration Information
Full Name, Email Address, Mobile & WhatsApp Number, Institute Name, Roll Number, Class/Batch allocation, and encrypted password hashes.
b) Academic & Examination Activity
Responses to online computer-based tests (CBT), OMR option selections, test durations, scores, percentiles, peer rank leaderboards, uploaded PDF study worksheets, and video lecture logs.
c) Security & Anti-Cheating Logs
IP address, browser user-agent, operating system, tab-switch count during live exams, session cookies, and OTP email verification logs.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use collected data strictly for providing and improving educational services:
- Managing institute, teacher, and student account permissions and authentication.
- Automating exam score calculations, negative mark deductions, and peer rankings.
- Sending instant email/SMS OTP codes, exam scheduling notifications, and result alerts.
- Processing institute subscriptions, trial activations, and payment reconciliations.
4. Data Sharing & Non-Disclosure Guarantee
GyanRank does NOT sell, rent, or monetize user data to third-party advertising networks. Data is shared exclusively under the following operational guidelines:
- Institute & Classroom Boundary: Enrolled students' exam attempts, marks, and ranks are visible only to their institute administrator and assigned teachers.
- Regulatory Requirements: Information may be disclosed if mandated by Indian law or valid legal process under the Information Technology Act, 2000.
5. Cookies & Local Storage
We use essential HTTP session cookies and local storage tokens to keep users signed in securely, save ongoing exam responses, and prevent session hijacking. Disabling cookies in browser settings may restrict access to timed examination features.
6. Data Security & Encryption Standards
GyanRank employs enterprise-grade security protocols:
- 256-bit SSL/TLS: All communication between browser/app and servers is encrypted (`https://`).
- Password Hashing: Passwords are protected using salted `bcrypt` algorithms.
- Automated Database Backups: Secure daily backups safeguard academic data against data loss.
7. Payment Gateway Security (Razorpay)
Subscription payments are processed via PCI-DSS certified payment gateway partners (such as Razorpay). GyanRank does NOT store sensitive payment credentials (credit card numbers, CVV, or UPI PINs) on our servers.
8. Student & Minor Protection
GyanRank is an educational software platform designed for coaching institutes and enrolled students. Student accounts are established under institute authorization or parental supervision. We collect only data necessary for academic evaluation.
9. Data Rights & Account Deletion SLA
Users have the right to request access, correction, or permanent erasure of their personal profile and exam history.
To request data erasure, submit a request on our Account Deletion Page. Requests are processed by our data protection team within 48 hours.
10. Policy Updates & Contact Information
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of revised terms.
